The Industrial Engineering Department, CEAT, UPLB, expresses its immense and deepest gratitude to the Hon. Fortunato T. de la Peña, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, for graciously serving as a resource speaker during the 6th plenary session of the Summer Camp INGENIOUS 2021 held today, August 13, 2021, via Zoom.
Summer Camp INGENIOUS 2021 is a part of the integrated exchange program in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS-Surabaya), where UPLB IED currently has several junior IE students participating as part of their Department Assisted Internship Program for IE 198. This event is conducted by ITS Surabaya in collaboration with UP Los Baños, Mapua University, and Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM Melaka).
The summer camp aims to provide the participants an exposure to international engagement and collaboration by providing a combination of plenary sessions headed by different speakers from Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, and enjoyable learning activities for the students to partake in and utilize what they have learned from the plenary sessions.
With the main theme “Global Effect of Pandemic: Empowering Industrial Recovery through Sustainable Innovation and Infrastructure”, Sec. de la Peña indulged over 100 participants with an insightful discussion on Business and Operations Improvement Opportunities in the Post Pandemic.
The department greatly appreciates the support that Sec. de la Peña and his team have provided, and ITS-Surabaya for the opportunity to participate in this event.
