UPLB DIE holds Testimonial and Recognition Program 2022

The UPLB Department of Industrial Engineering held its Virtual Testimonial and Recognition Program for the graduating class of 2022 at 3:00 PM last August 3, 2022 which was streamed online on Facebook.

A total of 30 BSIE graduates participated in the virtual ceremony via Zoom, with three graduates from Midyear 2021, 10 graduates from 1st Semester A.Y. 2021-2022, and 17 graduates from 2nd Semester A.Y. 2021-2022 including two graduating cum laude.

The ceremony started with the opening remarks by Dr. Rossana Marie C. Amongo, Dean of CEAT, which was followed by the roll call of graduates and the presentation of special awards. “Believe in the portals of the college, the college will be expecting you to be leaders in the different institutions in the country to serve with honor and excellence and bring with you – Tatak CEAT, Tatak UPLB” she mentioned as she ended her remarks.

Eight graduates received special recognitions for their outstanding performance in academic competitions, five for leadership, and two for academic excellence.

The valedictorian of BSIE Class of 2022, Ms. Yzzan Mae Souribio, gave her speech shortly after the presentation of special awards. “I entered UPLB excited for the new chapter of my life, hindi ko inexpect yung mga challenges na mahahanap ko sa university”, she said in her speech as she reminisced about her journey in her college life. “It wasn’t an easy journey but it was all worth it”, she added.

The chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Dr. Josefa Angelie Revilla, also delivered her message to the graduating class. In her speech, she stated that there are two things that they hope to bring to the graduates as they leave the university: compassion for other people and to continue upholding Honor and Integrity. Engr. Alan Marco S. Mercado, the Alumni Relations Head and the Masters of Ceremony, delivered the closing remarks.

The department held its testimonial and graduation ceremony virtually. But the graduating class had the chance to meet physically during the CEAT Testimonial Program which was held last August 4, 2022. They are also looking forward to the UPLB Commencement Exercises which will be held on August 6, 2022.
