The UPLB Department of Industrial Engineering has recently acquired an academic license for the simulation software FlexSim. This will help the department in providing a more thorough learning experience for the students, and it will serve as an additional tool that may be used by the faculty and students for their research works.
On September 1 to 2, 2022, six IE faculty members attended the two-day training on how to use the simulation software. The faculty members who attended the training were Assoc. Prof. Josefa Angelie Revilla, Asst. Prof. Angelo Ani, Asst. Prof. Kathleen Baldoz, Asst. Prof. Maria Liezel Eusebio, Engr. Gabriel John de Leon, and Engr. Franz Christian Velasco. The training covered the basic tools and some of the advanced features of the software.
The simulation software will be used in teaching IE 144 Systems Simulation and may be used by students for their thesis or other projects.
