IED takes part on the 26th IAGBT-KITRI Biannual Virtual Conference and Research Symposium

The Department of Industrial Engineering (IED) participated in the 26th International Academy of Global Business and Trade (IAGBT) – Korea International Trade Research Institute (KITRI) Biannual Virtual Conference and Research Symposium, in Seoul, South Korea.

The three-day international event was conducted online, via Zoom, from July 22 to 24, 2021, where 14 countries participated (Austria, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Philippines, Romania, Vietnam, USA, and Uzbekistan), represented by over a hundred diverse individuals from different institutions, schools, universities, and organizations.

Among the participants were four faculty members from UPLB IED, who served different roles during the event, namely Engr. Maria Liezel Caroche (moderator), Engr. Alan Marco Mercado and aProf. Clarissa Pesigan (discussants), and Dr. Diana Marie De Silva who served as one of the presenters during the event.

Dr. De Silva presented and discussed the undergraduate thesis of her advisee, Angelica Natividad, entitled “The Impact of Multi-channel Retailing on Overall Service Quality and its Effect on Repurchase Intention”, which garnered the award of Best Paper after competing with 52 other papers from different countries during the English session of the virtual conference. With Ms. Natividad as the main author, the study was coauthored by Engr. Maria Liezel Caroche, Dr. Diana Marie De Silva, Engr. Stephanie Caridad Landicho, and Dr. Angelie Revilla.

The department expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the IAGBT, especially to Prof. Jeanette Angeline Madamba of the UPLB College of Economics and Management, for inviting the department to participate and present in the virtual conference.
