Exchange students from ITS Surabaya, Indonesia attends IE classes in UPLB during the First Semester A.Y. 2021-2022.

The UPLB Industrial Engineering Department (IED) continues its virtual student exchange collaboration with Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, Indonesia, as two students from ITS enroll a course each in UPLB for the First Semester A.Y. 2021-2022.

UPLB IED and ITS started the virtual student exchange collaboration during the Second Semester A.Y. 2020-2021 where six students from UPLB IED and seven from ITS participated. This semester, two students from ITS are participating. Ms. Alya Oktia Putri is taking IE 143 Stochastic Processes in Industrial Engineering, and Ms. Amaris Zahwa Adila is taking IE 191 (Special Topics) Engineering for Sustainable Development. They started attending during the first week of classes which began on September 13 (Monday).

The virtual student exchange program has taken advantage of the online class setup. It has overcome some of the challenges encountered in traditional student exchange programs and is expected to bring the same benefits and positive effects to the students.

The program is also expected to encourage further collaboration between UPLB and ITS. Another collaboration that has already taken place was the ITS Summer Camp which was a part of the UPLB IED Department-Assisted Internship Program held in Midyear 2021.
